Therefore, it promotes spaces for training, leadership, participation, and innovation, encouraging youth agency and engagement in relevant global issues.

Opportunities Available

The Global Youth Organization (GYO) is currently accepting applications for the selection process of 10 (ten) Volunteer Korean Language Teachers who will work in the Global Language Program (PGI), an institutional initiative aimed at democratizing access to language education, internationalizing education, and strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between Brazil and the Republic of Korea. The Korean Language Course of the PGI aims to provide solid training in the language and Korean culture, preparing students for academic opportunities, exchanges, international scholarship programs, international relations, global labor markets, and cultural exchange.

The Volunteer Teacher will be responsible for conducting the teaching-learning process, developing students' language skills, and promoting knowledge about Korean culture, history, and society, thus contributing to the formation of youth with an international profile. In addition to teaching, the professors will be part of an international network of educators from the Global Youth Organization, with opportunities to participate in training programs, academic projects, international forums, symposiums, congresses, and initiatives developed in partnership with universities, educational institutions, and national and international organizations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teach online Korean Language classes according to the pedagogical planning of the Global Language Program;
  • Develop skills in listening comprehension, conversation, reading, writing, and pronunciation;
  • Teach cultural, historical, and social aspects of the Republic of Korea;
  • Elaborate lesson plans, activities, exercises, and assessments;
  • Monitor students' academic performance and record results;
  • Participate in pedagogical meetings promoted by the Academic Coordination and Opportunities;
  • Collaborate in producing and updating educational materials;
  • Encourage innovative methodologies, active learning, and intercultural communication;
  • Support workshops, conversation clubs, academic events, and complementary activities;
  • Fulfill the academic, pedagogical, and institutional guidelines of the Global Youth Organization.

Desired Profile

  • Fluency or proficiency in the Korean Language;
  • TOPIK certification will be considered a differential;
  • Training or experience in Language and Literature, Korean Language, Education, International Relations, Asian Studies, or related fields (desirable);
  • Previous experience with in-person or remote teaching will be considered a differential;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Good teaching methods and mastery of digital teaching platforms;
  • Organization, responsibility, and commitment;
  • Interest in international cooperation, education, and cultural exchange;
  • Alignment with the mission, values, and institutional principles of the Global Youth Organization.

Academic and International Development

Volunteer teachers can participate in opportunities promoted by the Global Youth Organization, including continuing education programs for educators; pedagogical improvement courses; national and international forums; academic symposiums and congresses; seminars and workshops; institutional missions; international cooperation projects; and academic exchange programs promoted or supported by GYO in partnership with universities, educational institutions, and national and international organizations. Participation in these activities will observe institutional criteria for selection, performance, availability of vacancies, and existing partnerships.

Mode of Operation

  • Remote volunteering;
  • Live classes on Saturdays;
  • Use of GYO's official platforms;
  • Average dedication of 4 to 6 hours per week, including class preparation, pedagogical meetings, and student follow-up.
