Senior TypeScript Engineer

The Mission

Help build the operating system for modern supply chain commerce. This client handles Order Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation, and Consumer Experience for top-tier brands doing over $10B in commerce annually. We don't hire "ticket executors" ; we are looking for technical owners who want to write high-quality backend and full-stack TypeScript to solve complex, high-throughput engineering problems that directly determine how efficiently commerce moves across the globe.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you are a core technical contributor to your product team. You will own features end-to-end—from influencing the initial specification all the way through implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Technical Execution: Architect, implement, and maintain high-quality TypeScript across the stack (backend services, APIs, event-driven systems, and data pipelines) with reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability in mind.
• Feature Ownership: Engage in planning and design discussions early to surface technical trade-offs and challenge assumptions before decisions are locked.
• Agentic Workflow Integration: Work in an AI-forward environment where agentic workflows are the norm. You will actively identify opportunities within your product area to introduce autonomous agents that reduce manual toil, surface intelligence to operators, or automate complex processes.
• Collaborative AI Development: Partner with the AI and Platform Services teams to consume shared agent infrastructure, skill libraries, and MCP integrations, while establishing team habits for building agentic workflows with judgment and quality.
• Code Quality & Mentorship: Participate actively in code reviews to raise the engineering bar and provide direct mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.

The Must-Haves

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience across the modern TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem, including Node.js, server-side JS, REST and GraphQL API design, and build tooling.
• Backend Distributed Systems: Proven experience building, operating, and debugging scalable, distributed backend services in production with a deep understanding of system failure modes.
• Database Mastery: Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (or equivalent), with the ability to model data well and write queries that perform at scale.
• Cloud & Observability: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or equivalent), containerization (Docker), and instrumenting production systems to catch failures early.
• Production-Level Agentic AI Execution: This is a hard requirement. You routinely integrate agentic AI tools and workflows into your daily development process as a primary productivity multiplier. You maintain independent technical judgment, actively identifying improvements and optimizations rather than uncritically accepting raw model or agent outputs.

The Bonus Skills

• Advanced AI Engineering: Direct familiarity with building or consuming agentic AI development patterns, including tool calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and structured outputs.
• Familiarity with: Experience working with or alongside Elixir/Phoenix, Kafka, and GCP.
• Event Streaming & Real-Time Systems: Experience with event streaming/message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and real-time systems (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events).
• Orchestration & Frontend: Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, Prefect, Airflow) and modern frontend frameworks like React.
• Domain Knowledge: Previous startup experience or background in logistics, supply chain, OMS, TMS, or WMS.
