Engineering Manager

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development of high-quality, foundational large language models through supervised fine tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage teams of 20+ Python, JavaScript, Java, and other language developers to execute technical tasks effectively.
• Collaborate closely with researcher clients to ensure satisfaction with delivered work.
• Maintain rigorous review processes to ensure the highest quality of datasets.
• Oversee project transitions from initiation to stable states, taking full responsibility for delivery.
• Identify and implement measures to enhance the quality of code within the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an engineering management role.
• Proven experience managing large technical teams in a delivery-oriented role.
• Experience with Python or Java and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in hands-on technical work, identifying and resolving quality issues.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a focus on motivating teams.
